The Namesake

Last night, I couldn't sleep. I wasn't quite sure why. I tried to read, finish up a gift, laid down to sleep. Nothing. I loaded up this movie,

 

 A few years ago I read the book, but I didn't remember much about it. Having just recently heard about it again, I watched it. It fascinated me. What I loved about it is getting glimpses of the Indian culture. I mostly have an image from Bollywood movies or of Dalit children. The whole American dream also fascinates me. I also think the fact that it was a different culture in this setting also tuned me into the story line. A boy named after a Russian author? Hm, sounds good. Anyways, I was hooked. So, I'm still thinking about what it all meant but I loved the story about this family who gave up everything to give a better life to their children. The rest, well, I leave it for you to see. The trailer shows a different angle to it, than the movie.
