conceptual vs. the obvious

I did this project about a year ago and I never got around to posting this. Recently I have been thinking about all that I learned last year. It's hard to put into words what I went through but I think it really stretched me. I feel a bit more grown up. When I look at these pictures, they tug at my heart, because the time I volunteered there really impacted me. 

These are some of the photos I used for my project on the children's home. I wanted to do something more conceptual than obvious. Using the spaces to communicate something I always felt going into the homes: a sense of abandonment, loneliness and the feeling of being misplaced.
